台北西部區域,靠近河邊是十八世紀末就開港的大稻埕,繁榮一時的河港週邊有華麗的巴洛克建築也有傳統閩南平房,迪化街是著名的年貨大街,中藥行、雜貨行、布材行林立,在日治時期是整個台北的經濟重心以及文化思潮的起點,發展至今更是年輕風格小店新興聚集區域。舊稱艋舺的萬華、龍山寺華西街一直到剝皮寮,十足老城風貌相當獨具特色,與鄰近的時尚流行年輕的西門町形成有趣對比。

During the Japanese colonial period , it is the center of economic growth and threshold of cultural waves. Nowadays here is the go-to spot for new generation style boutiques. Formerly known as Monga, was consisting of Wanhua, Longshan Temple, Huaxi Street and followed by Bopiliao Historical Block. This one of a kind old town atmosphere contrasts with the trendy and youthful spirit of Ximending area.
